Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

The burly man named Clint was already on the ground, having crashed over a table.

Parks stood there, looking completely composed.

Evidently, Parks' punch just now had been quite heavy.

The remaining seven or eight burly men immediately surrounded them.

There was no longer any room for rules.

White, Moore, Cobb, and Heffron each lunged at the big men near them.

Three or four more burly men, along with Clint who was struggling to get up from the ground, ferociously rushed at Parks.

Cobb was fighting in Town for the first time and was a bit timid, so much so that he took several punches, his face swelling up high.

Just as he was about to protect his face, he was kneed in the abdomen by his opponent, bending over like a shrimp in pain.

"Cobb!"

Moore and Heffron knocked their opponents to the ground and hurried towards Cobb.

Just as they were about to teach that guy a lesson, the two who had been knocked down rushed back, and they were too busy to help, so the few of them got tangled up again.

The scene was chaotic.

Parks' combat skills finally came into play.

"Bang!" A big man was kicked over and couldn't get up for a long time.

"Thump!" With a loud crash, two big men collided, making a huge sound, and then fell limply.

Another, seeing the unfavorable situation, tried to turn and run away, but Parks picked up a chair and threw it at him.

With a "crash," both the man and the chair tumbled at the bar's entrance.

"Only you're left!" Parks smiled, "Mr. Clint, is it?"

"No, no, no!" Clint was terrified.

It was clear this soldier in front of him was not to be trifled with.

Although he had a smile on his face, in Clint's eyes, that smile was no different from a devil's smile.

"That... that bitch isn't my woman, you guys can have her!"

"Clint, you bastard!" The woman suddenly shrieked and rushed forward, giving Clint a "slap" across the face, leaving five red handprints.

This woman's strike was truly vicious.

"You've got guts, when I get back, I'll have my brother deal with you!

You know, he's the boxer in Town!"

The woman cursed again, "Bastard!" then stormed out of the bar in a huff.

Just then, a whistle sounded in Town.

"The police are here, let's go.

If we get caught, Sobel won't let us off!" Cobb sounded worried.

His mouth was a bit swollen, and it moved strangely when he spoke.

"Get lost, don't let me see you again!" Parks roared at Clint.

Clint quickly helped the other knocked-down big men, supporting each other as they left in a sorry state.

"Alright, guys, we should go too!" Parks patted White's shoulder and walked towards the bar's entrance.

After only two steps, he heard a woman's voice from behind: "You smashed up my bar, and you're just going to walk away like that?

The police are coming soon, and I know you're paratroopers from Taccoa Barracks.

Otherwise, I'll have to come to the camp to find trouble for you!"

Parks and the others turned around and saw a fair-skinned, slender girl with blonde hair and blue eyes looking at them with a half-smile.

It was clear this girl was not a woman of the night, but from a good family.

Her blue eyes smiled, and she was very beautiful.

"Damn, it's Jennifer," Cobb whispered.

"Natalie?" Parks clearly had no impression of this beautiful girl.

"Yes, the bar owner's daughter, Jennifer Raich.

She's very difficult to deal with.

I really don't know why she's here; didn't she go to college?" White clearly knew a lot about this girl's situation.

"Here's five hundred dollars!" Parks pulled out a wad of cash, which he had won from throwing darts.

"I hope this can compensate for your losses; I only have this much!" Then he shrugged his shoulders.

"If it's not enough, I'll just come find you!" Jennifer Raich looked at Parks playfully.

"At least you have to tell me your name now, otherwise, if the money isn't enough, I won't be able to find you!"

"Sergeant Reese Parks of E Company, Second Platoon!" Parks hadn't even spoken yet when Cobb, standing nearby, couldn't help but interject.

"Miss Raich, can we go now?"

"Alright, you can go!" Jennifer's eyes fixed on Parks.

"Remember, I'll be looking for you anytime!" Then she waved the banknotes in her hand at Parks.

The soldiers quickly fled the place and headed straight for the military camp.

Now they had no interest in having fun anymore.

Along the way, White grumbled to Cobb with some dissatisfaction: "Cobb, you shouldn't have given away Parks' name and company.

You'll get him into trouble; you know that girl is difficult to deal with!"

Cobb replied, "If I didn't, would she have let us go?

Didn't you know the police were coming?

If we got caught by those damn police, would Sobel let us off?

I did this for everyone!"

"Damn it, you betrayed Parks, and he did it for you!" White said angrily, "And his five hundred dollars!"

Moore and Heffron remained silent, lost in their own thoughts.

"Alright, White, let's just let it go; it was money won anyway," Parks said jokingly, not wanting to ruin the camaraderie among them.

"Maybe that girl is interested in me.

Can't you guys just see this as one of my romantic encounters?

I think you're probably just jealous of me!"

"Haha!" The group burst into laughter, even Cobb, who was a bit embarrassed, laughed.

"But seriously, Parks, those moves of yours were really impressive.

How did you take down those four big guys?" White's mood started to get excited again.

"Did you train in boxing?"

"Yeah, tell us, that kick you threw was amazing!

That guy was sent tumbling and even knocked over a table!" Moore also became interested.

"It's nothing, just... just a type of combat technique!" Parks didn't know how to explain it to them.

It was clear that this group had no understanding of Chinese Kung Fu.

Of course, he wouldn't be so foolish as to say he knew Chinese Kung Fu.

China, to these people now, was just a distant, unfamiliar word.

"You have to teach us sometime!" White put an arm around Parks' shoulder.

"Otherwise, I would have beaten that guy until he was spitting teeth today!"

The group chatted and laughed, already nearing the military camp.

"Remember, guys!" Parks looked at the few beside him.

"What happened tonight, don't tell anyone!"

"You mean the fight?

Of course not, we're not fools!" Everyone nodded.

But the fight still leaked out because of the injuries on Cobb's face.

During the routine drill on Monday morning, Lieutenant Sobel was practically roaring, waving his arms in agitation.

"You are all a pile of crap!" Sobel's spit landed on Parks' face.

Parks, Cobb, Moore, White, and Heffron stood on the other side of the formation, receiving Lieutenant Sobel's furious scolding.

"Sergeant Reese Parks, in light of your poor performance, I have decided to demote you to Private and strip you of your Sergeant rank!" Sobel glared fiercely at Parks.

Originally, he had been quite satisfied with Parks.

"Yes, Lieutenant!" Parks puffed out his chest.

He had no choice but to accept.

"Private Roy Caber, Private Odem Moore, Private White Jerry, Corporal Ed Heffron, from now on you will clean the latrines for two weeks.

Now, you have 50 minutes to run up the mountain fully equipped and return!

Any questions?"

"No, Lieutenant!" The five replied in unison.

"Then what are you waiting for?

Run!" Sobel roared.

"Everyone else, dismissed!"

It seemed that today, Lieutenant Herb Sobel was determined to teach these five guys a lesson.

"I hope that after today, Sobel won't bother us anymore!" Cobb panted, running up the slope.

Parks didn't run too fast; he stayed with the other four.

"Heaven knows, the Black Swan won't make it easy for us!" White's resentment was deep.

"Let's just run quickly; if we're late, then we'll really be in trouble!" Ed Heffron shouted.

"I was so scared this morning; I thought Lieutenant Sobel was going to kick us out of the airborne unit," Moore laughed from behind.

"If that were true, I'd be too ashamed to tell my family."

"Alright, let's push ourselves!

Nothing can defeat us.

Remember, we haven't even earned our Silver Wings yet; that's the true mark of a paratrooper!

Charge, warhorses!" Parks said with a laugh.

The five ran together strenuously up the mountain.

At this moment, willpower and spirit were their most important pillars.

"Hey, can't you guys run slower?" At that moment, a voice came from behind.

"They are Lieutenant Sobel's warhorses!" Another voice seemed to say, panting.

The five couldn't help but turn their heads and saw a group of fully equipped soldiers in training uniforms behind them.

The two who had just spoken were George Luz and Joe Liebgott.

"Hey, what are you guys still standing around for?

We're going to pass you!" Lieutenant Winters, at some point, ran up from the ranks.

"Brothers of E Company, never walk alone, hurry, hurry, climb to the top of the mountain!"
