Chapter 2 - A Day Already Underway

Since this has already occurred, why mourn over what cannot be retrieved? I would focus on getting through today and not ruining this apparently perfect life.

With the limited recollections I had of this body, I quickly showered and put on the freshly pressed uniform I managed to find in my closet. Looking into the mirror, I appreciated my appearance; I was cute and had just the right amount of curves.

I was aware that I was well-liked at school based on the bits of memory left with me. I was friendly, easygoing, and people were naturally drawn to me. Smiles, greetings, and cheerful hellos were always part of my day.

"Alright, let's make the most of today and return to my comfy bed later. That bed is far too tempting to leave," I mumbled, unwilling to abandon the luxury fresh in my mind.

I stepped out of my room with my school bag and phone, scrolling through the flood of messages on my screen. Two best friends stood out from the chaos—my support system here. They were more than friends; they were family.

"Your parents are expecting you in the breakfast area, young mistress, and breakfast is ready," a maid informed me with a courteous curtsy.

"Thank you, please lead the way." I tried to speak normally, but internally, my thoughts were racing. Pretending that everything was alright was more challenging than I anticipated. People would think I was entirely insane if they could hear my thoughts.

"Good morning, Mom and Dad. Where are Angel and Alvin?" I said as I sat down at the table, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible while poking at the food.

"Good morning, sweetheart. Your older brother has already left for work, and Angel and Alvin are still in their room upstairs. Just a reminder, we have our gala event in two weeks that you need to attend," my mom gently reminded me.

Her appearance immediately revealed where I inherited my good looks. She epitomized grace and elegance, her face being both stunning and somewhat intimidating. Glancing at my dad, who looked as striking as a Greek god, I realized we weren't simply affluent; we were also blessed with beauty.

"The car is already waiting; I'm off to school. Don't worry about me or the gala, Mom, but I do need a dress. Could you have your assistant take care of that for me? Dad, Mom, I'll see you tonight—have an amazing day."

The sleek black car parked outside caught my attention the moment I stepped out. Though I had never been into cars in my previous life, this one radiated power and luxury. The chauffeur, Alfred, effortlessly opened the car door for me.

I eased into the seat, still trying to calm my nerves. I wasn't ready to face the whole school and the significant changes, but I had no choice. The one thing I could do was silently pray that God would be with me until day's end.

"Miss, we have arrived," Alfred's soothing voice roused me from my daydreaming.

"Thank you, Alfred. Have a great day. Please come back for me at four," I smiled.

"Certainly, miss."

As I walked through the school gates, a sense of expectation bore down on me. My feet felt lighter than my heart, still trying to untangle this new reality. Before I could settle into the rhythm of the day, a voice called out my name, its tone carrying across the courtyard.

I barely had enough time to spin around as a streak of light shot toward me at full speed.

"Please don't let me tumble," I silently prayed, preparing to be knocked down, unaware of what to think.
