The moment she finished speaking, a deafening roar shook all of Asgard.
It sounded like a massive warship running aground, but it was not. It was the noise of a starship colliding against Asgard's energy barrier.
"I didn't expect Asgard to be hidden behind such a massive energy shield. No wonder we couldn't find it. They really did a good job hiding this place!" Atago said in surprise.
"Odin is an old Heavenly Father level powerhouse after all. It's only natural he has such means," Beizhai commented with interest.
"This barrier was forged by my father with the power of the Space Stone. It works much like the Bifrost. Ordinary people could never break it," Thor warned.
Beizhai chuckled. "The Space Stone's power? How amusing. I happen to know a little about space power myself."
She leapt from the ship, landing directly on the barrier, and pressed her hands against it. Instantly, a mighty force of space erupted, and under its effect, the barrier in front of her melted away.
A spatial gate several meters wide appeared.
Seeing this, Thor's jaw dropped in shock. He never imagined that the barrier protecting Asgard, crafted by his father, could be undone in less than a minute.
While he was still stunned, Beizhai and Atago had already stepped inside Asgard. Thor hurried after them, and after some hesitation, Banner sighed and followed.
Their arrival immediately drew Hela's attention. In an instant, she led her forces and surrounded them.
"My dear brother, since you somehow survived, you should have stayed away. Coming back here is only asking for death. Your stupidity will get others killed," Hela sneered.
Thor's expression was grim. "I am the King of Asgard. I cannot stand by while my people are in danger. I had to return. Sister, stop this."
"Stop?" Hela laughed coldly. "I conquered this land. I am only taking back what was rightfully mine. What right do you have to ask me to stop?
I fought side by side with Odin, conquering realms and carving out our empire. Yet on the day of victory, he stripped me of everything and cast me into the abyss, leaving me to suffer endless torment.
And you, who have done nothing but play house with that hammer, inherit the throne with a mere wave of your hand? Why?" Her eyes burned with killing intent.
"I've heard your story. Don't twist it as if you were blameless. You ruled with tyranny, plotted rebellion, and father had no choice but to seal you in Hel. You brought this on yourself!" Thor retorted firmly.
"So your allies told you the truth. Yes, I rebelled, but I was right to rebel! We Asgardians are rulers of the Nine Realms, gods above all others. All races should bow beneath us. The law of this world is survival of the fittest. And you, a childish fool, dare speak to me? Since you've returned, then stay here forever!"
With a wave of her hand, a sword of the night sky shot at Thor, shrieking through the air. Thor rolled just in time to evade. But Hela blinked forward, grasped his throat, and squeezed.
"My sweet but useless brother. I am the Goddess of Death. And you, what god are you?" She tightened her grip, intending to crush his neck.
Beizhai and Atago only smiled, making no move to help. Jason Kin had instructed them before departure: the battle between Hela and Thor was a family matter. Outsiders should not intervene unless Asgard itself was in danger or Thor's life truly ended.
So they simply watched with interest. To them, Hela was more than just a villain—she was a charismatic one, someone who could even be useful if persuaded to serve their master.
Thor's expression shifted. At that moment, his passive skill—"Thinking of Father"—activated.
On the shores of a vast sea, a boundless field of grass appeared. At its center stood Odin, wearing his eyepatch.
Seeing his father again, Thor nearly broke down in tears.
"Father, she's too strong. She crushed Mjolnir. I'm no match for her," Thor said in despair.
Odin's gaze was stern. "When I gave you Mjolnir, it was to help you focus, not to become your strength. The hammer is just a tool. The true power lies within you. Remember, you are the God of Thunder, not the God of Hammers."
Thor's eyes widened in realization.
"Father is right. I am the God of Thunder, not the God of Hammers. I am the God of Thunder!"
Back in reality, Thor's eyes snapped open, glowing with crackling blue lightning.
Seeing this sudden change, even Hela was shaken. A bad feeling rose in her chest, but before she could react, a bolt of blue lightning fell from the heavens, smashing into her with unstoppable force.
"Ahhh!"
Her scream echoed as the blast shattered the ground, and her paralyzed body plunged into the river below.
Thor finally regained some ground. "I am the God of Thunder!" he declared with confidence.
Beizhai and Atago exchanged amused looks. "So your 'thinking of father' skill isn't useless after all," Atago quipped.
Thor: "..."
"Don't celebrate too soon. Your sister won't fall that easily," Atago reminded.
As if to prove her point, Hela's furious roar rose from the river. She emerged, standing atop a massive black sword grave that lifted her high into the air.
"My undead army, kill them all! Leave none alive!" she bellowed.
The undead howled like demons crawling out of hell. Ordinary people would have been terrified. But Beizhai and Atago, as emissaries of the Lord of Life, had seen far worse.
Even Thor and Banner remained calm. After all, they had witnessed the Gates of Hell themselves.
"This is all?" Atago mocked.
Hela's face twisted in rage. "Fenrir, kill that arrogant woman!"
The monstrous wolf leapt, its mountain-sized body crashing down like a meteor. The sheer force of it was enough to crush mountains, as if heaven itself were collapsing.
Yet Atago only sneered. "I didn't want to act, but you've forced my hand. Don't blame me for being merciless. A mere half-god beast dares to challenge me? You've grown tired of living."
With a wave of her hand, divine power erupted like a nuclear blast, crashing toward Fenrir in a devastating shockwave.
Sensing the overwhelming force, Fenrir roared in fear, but to Atago it was nothing but a powerless cry.
The divine storm struck, and the mighty wolf was hurled away, smashing through mountains before landing battered and broken.
It was no battle at all, only one-sided domination.
Appearing in front of the fallen wolf in an instant, Atago raised her hand and pointed.
"Submit, or die."
