Chapter 6 - void law

Ah…" a groan slipped out of my mouth as I woke up.

"Fuck… my head's going to blast from the pain. Fuck."

Then it hit me — how I even ended up here.

"Wait… did I pass? Am I now on Law Awakening Level 1? Let me check…"

I took a deep breath, then blurted out,

"Oh fuck, fuck, fuck—fuuuuuck! I passed! Thank God I didn't die. If I had died, I wouldn't be able to play GTA 16!"

I forgot about the pain entirely, grinning like an idiot.

"…One second. What law did I awaken?"

Curiosity hit me hard. I sat down and began to meditate, slipping into my Sea of Consciousness to see what kind of law I had awakened.

Nothing.

It wasn't empty in the normal way — it was literally nothing. Endless darkness.

Even my Sea of Consciousness looked different from what I'd read about in novels and cultivation books. Normally, the first law you awaken becomes the core of your sea. Fire users see flames everywhere, water users see endless rivers, and so on. But here? Just nothingness.

Still, I was 100% sure I had awakened a law — and a profound one at that.

"Wait… if there's nothing here… does that mean I awakened the Void Law? Because only Void Law is like this."

I came to my conclusion and got to my feet, checking the time. 8:30 a.m. That meant I had only thirty minutes before class started.

I didn't hurry. First, because I was happy. Second, because even if I rushed, I'd still be late — so why not add a few more minutes? Punishment's going to be the same either way.

So I did my normal routine: made myself a black coffee, took some headache medicine, showered, and got dressed. I didn't forget my mask either — the world didn't need to know how handsome I was.

---

"So class, all theoretical lessons end here. Now we'll move to training."

"May I come in, ma'am?" I said as she was talking — not that I'd heard what she said before.

Miss Emily turned her head toward the door. She froze.

A boy stood there with beautiful blue eyes and hair that hid most of them. But that wasn't why she froze — it was the feeling.

For a moment, it was like he wasn't there at all. Even her senses, sharp enough to make her one of the top 100 most powerful people on the Apex Roll List, struggled to detect his presence. She quickly pushed the feeling aside.

"Is this the time to come to class? We're about to finish."

"Sorry, ma'am. I was late because of… some problems. It won't happen again."

"Remember — this is your last warning. If it happens again, don't bother coming to my class."

"Yes, ma'am."

I slipped into the room, heading to my seat. Before I could sit, her voice stopped me.

"Arishu, did you cultivate? You're at Law Awakening Level 1 now."

"Yes, ma'am. I cultivated last night."

"So you did it by yourself? Do you know how dangerous that is? If something went wrong, you could've died." Her voice was cold, but there was concern in it — the kind a teacher has for their student.

"Sorry, ma'am. It won't happen again."

"Sorry doesn't matter. Pay attention — don't put yourself in meaningless danger."

"Okay, ma'am."

As i sit on my sit i heard miss Emily announcing our physical class and this is the importat class and why not in this world where cultivater rule this class is the most important " but before we go to traning ground we first need to choose weapon so we will we going in weapon hall and you all can pick only one weapon in all the weapons that are going to swa you do you all understand" "Yes ma'am " the class said

The Weapon Hall was quite big, and the higher you went, the better the weapons you could find. But we were only allowed on the first floor. The first floor was divided into many sections so students could find their weapons faster.

I headed straight for the sword section—I was looking for a Japanese-style sword. Why? Because I wanted to look cool. In my previous world, who didn't want a katana? There were many types of swords displayed, but as I was searching, my eyes stopped on someone.

She had white hair and red eyes. Yes—she was Aya Kario. I was never really interested in girls; I had too many things to do. But her beauty… every time I saw her, I questioned how a person could be this beautiful. This is a novel, so of course beauty is exaggerated, but still… if we follow the "novel" way, then the female protagonist should be the most beautiful. Yet every time I looked at her, I—

"Excuse me, can you move?"

A cold yet beautiful voice pulled me back to reality. I snapped out of my thoughts and found Aya Kario standing in front of me, looking at me with emotionless eyes.

"Hello, can you move? You're blocking my way," she repeated.

I instantly stepped aside, a sudden jolt running down my spine. She walked forward and picked up a Chinese-style sword, pure white in color. The way she held it… it felt like the sword was made for her.

But then I caught myself. What the hell, Arishu? You're here to pick a sword, not to admire beauty. Focus. Don't get lost in these worldly distractions.

I went back to searching, and I didn't have to look for long. My eyes soon landed on a black, long, Japanese-style katana. I picked it up—the weight was perfect. Not too heavy, not too light. I knew instantly… this sword was meant for me.

After everyone chose their weapons, we headed to the training ground. The place was massive.

"Attention, everyone," Miss Emily's cold, stern voice echoed. "This is the training ground where you will be practicing. On your left is the gym equipment area, where you can train your body. On the right, that large hall you see contains multiple rooms — in those rooms, you can adjust the atmosphere as you desire. You can control gravity, temperature, and many other things. In front of you are small arenas where you and your partner can spar. And in the middle, as you can see, is the flat ground where you can practice freely."

She paused, scanning the class.

"From today, you will all practice here. But before that, you will choose a partner. You may choose whoever you want, but remember — pick someone who will help in your training or cover your weaknesses. For example, if you are a sword user, you can pick another sword user to refine your swordsmanship, or perhaps a bow user for variety. Choose wisely, because the partner you pick here will be your partner for the entire year. Any missions or activities you take on will be with this partner. Do you understand?"

"Yes, ma'am," the class replied.

Everyone began choosing their partners. My gaze fell on the main characters. Lyra Thorne and Mira Aven were best friends, so of course they paired up instantly. Jin Kairo walked toward Zaren Holt and, with his warm smile and gentle voice, said, "Hello, my name is Jin Kairo. I see you're also a longsword user — why don't we become partners?"

Zaren looked at him and replied in a cold, arrogant tone, "Okay."

Then my eyes landed on Aya Kario. She stood alone. It wasn't that nobody wanted to partner with her — her "don't come near me" aura simply kept everyone away.

I was also standing alone… though for me, it was because nobody wanted me as their partner. I was at the bottom of the rankings, after all. In the end, only Aya and I were without partners.

I decided to take the last step.

"Hello, Aya Kario. I'm Arishu. Since we're the only ones left without a partner, why don't we pair up?" I asked, a little flustered — it was my first time talking to a beautiful girl other than my mom in two lifetimes.

She looked at me, her eyes scanning my whole body. My face went red, but thankfully my mask hid it. After sizing me up, she finally spoke in a cold, emotionless voice. "Okay."

"Great. Let's add each other as partners." We touched our bracelets, and with a mechanical beep, the system confirmed our partnership. If I thought about it… nobody chose me, but now I was thankful. Who wouldn't want a beautiful girl as their partner?

"Alright," Miss Emily continued. "I hope everyone has chosen their partner. Now I want you to train together. The academy's system and I will observe you, and at the end, you will get a report on how to improve."

With that, she vanished from her spot, and everyone began practicing.

I turned to Aya. "Since we're both sword users, why don't we spar to improve our swordsmanship?"

"Okay," she said, walking toward the arenas. She picked one and stood inside, giving me a look that clearly said come here.

I stepped in, and we both drew our swords. Before we started, she said, "You've never used a sword before."

"How did you know?"

"The way you're gripping it. Your posture. It's how someone looks when they first try to use a sword."

"Oh. Am I that much of a noob? Well… can you teach me? You seem pretty good at it."

She looked at me like she was questioning how she ended up in this situation, the she close her eyes for second then finally said, "Okay," like she was accepting her fate.

She sheathed her sword, walked up to me, and gripped my hands. The moment her fingers touched mine, a jolt ran down my entire body and my face grew hot — but thanks to my mask, she couldn't see it.

"What are you thinking?" her cold voice cut through my thoughts. I snapped back to reality and started cooperating.

"Grip the sword like this. Fix your posture. Yes, like that. A little more."

That "little more" felt like too much when she was this close to me.

"Now, like that," she said, stepping back into position with her sword drawn. "Come."

I tightened my grip and attacked — but in the next second, my sword was on the other side of the arena, and I was lying flat on my back. I didn't even see her move.

She looked at me with her cold, unreadable eyes. "Again."

"Okay… here I come!"

For the next hour, the routine repeated — I'd attack, and she'd send me flying before I even saw her move. Strangely, I didn't feel frustrated. I actually enjoyed watching her swordplay; her blade seemed to drift like a falling petal, yet when I faced it head-on, it was faster and heavier than a storm. Then, for the first time, I saw a faint smile tug at her lips.

"Again," she said.

I picked up my sword, grinning beneath my mask. "Here I come."

And that's how my training started — by being beaten up by my partner.

---

In the distance, Miss Emily observed the students, evaluating them one by one. Suddenly, she felt a presence. She turned around to see a middle-aged man standing beside her, wearing a warm smile as he also watched the students.

"Principal, why are you here?" she asked respectfully.

"I just came to see this year's batch. Are there any special ones?"

"Well, sir, this year we have many talented students, but the ones who stand out most are Zaren Holt, Aya Kario, and Jin Kairo. They are already at the Law Manifestation Stage Two and are profound law awakeners. Jin Kairo is the most talented among them."

"Oh? And what about that one?" He pointed.

"Who? The student getting beaten up? There's nothing special about him, sir. He's only at Law Awakening Stage One and has awakened a common law."

"How do you know it's a common law? Did he tell you?"

"No, sir. But he awakened it himself, so it should be common."

"Why do you ask? Is there something special about him?" Miss Emily tilted her head, catching a flicker of emotion in the principal's eyes before it quickly vanished

Principal look at arishu with interest and said

"Nothing… just curious," the principal said — but his eyes lingered a little too long, as if he was trying to remember something.

The principal's eyes lingered on Arishu for a moment, then he asked, "By the way, how is your father?"

"As you know, Principal, he's always busy with work," Miss Emily replied, a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Hah, he's always been like that — always working. But don't worry about him; he knows his limits."

"Yes, Principal. I know."
