Noctira is a village with the Northern Valley to its north and a small forest to its west and also after coming out of this village there is a station, and more than a hundred families live in Noctira.
In this very village live Yozuki and his brother Hiroshi.
Yozuki is married, and his wife's name is Mihana.
Today, Mihana has given birth to a baby boy.
Yozuki is a confident man who deeply loves his brother, Hiroshi. He stands by him through every hardship, no matter how difficult the situation.
Hiroshi is also confident, and he loves Yozuki just as much as Yozuki loves him.But whatever Yozuki says, Hiroshi follows without question — he listens to him and trusts his every word.
Mihana, on the other hand, is not very confident.
She has a weak heart, and if she ever witnesses someone's death, so she immediately faints.
"Today a new guest has come to our family, so why don't we name him Akira?" Yozuki says.
"Yes of course, but ask your brother once," Mihana replies.
"Yes brother, it is a very nice name, I like it," Hiroshi responds.
And a couple also lives in the same village.
Both of them are named Meishin and Aorika, and today Aorika has also given birth to a son.
Meishin and Aorika love each other deeply, but Aorika is always afraid — afraid of losing Meishin, because he has cancer and he is in its last stage.
"Aorika, what should we name him?" Meishin asks.
"Why don't we name him Riku?" Aorika says.
"Yes, this name is right," Meishin agrees.
But just two days after Riku's birth, Meishin dies due to cancer, and now all the responsibility falls on Aorika.
After Meishin's death, Aorika was devastated.
There was no one left in the house to earn a living, so Aorika began going into the forest, cutting wood, and selling it in the village to make ends meet.
As the days passed, Riku grew older and started helping his mother with her work.
But on the days when there was nothing to eat at home, Aorika would go to someone else's house to ask for food.
She would always feed Riku first… and only after he had eaten, would she eat herself — sometimes with tears in her eyes.
