Returning he noticed that Lily followed and walked beside him. She asked how he managed to kill the butterfly and seemed impressed as Jin recounted the story.
Jin would have felt proud of himself if the man had not died as well, people were currently carrying his body back to the colosseum, no one wanted the body to be left for the beasts out there, although what they would do with it he had no idea.
Returning through the entrance, the corpse created a buzz, especially when people told them about the monster that killed him, horrifying the people. Many did not believe it but were too afraid to go outside to verify.
Jin split up with Lily as she recognized some family members of hers. From what Jin heard everyone here was from Luo City, so his family was definitely not here as they lived at the opposite end of the country.
The only reason Jin lived in Luo city was the university which was in the top 3 of the country.
Bored Jin began exploring the surroundings, but found the colosseum barren except for one building on the side. It looked like a miniature temple made of stone, a door blocked the entry point and no one could enter. Those who tried got a message saying it was the temple of ascension and that they were unqualified.
Other than the mysterious building, the plaza, and rooms there was nothing. The only interesting thing of note was that he couldn't open other people's rooms, some force was blocking him just like with the temple.
When Jin located his own room and tried to enter, the door opened without issue. He wasn't that surprised after witnessing all the strange things that happened today.
Seeing the bed Jin threw himself on it, while it had some firmness that modern beds did not have Jin did not mind, the room was also surprisingly cool for there being no ventilation inside.
As he laid down he felt a sudden disturbance. The disturbance came from his body as he felt what he could only describe as an energy trying to interact with him, freaking out Jin jumped off the bed causing the strange sensation to immediately disappear.
Curious Jin sat back on the bed and felt the energy returning, the feeling somehow didn't feel dangerous and never entered his body, as if it was a guest waiting to be let inside and only doing so if allowed permission.
Thinking it was alright Jin wanted to see what would happen if he allowed the energy to enter, and when he did, he blacked out.
Gaining back his sense's Jin realized he was back in his room, his actual student dorm room.
'Was it all a dream' confused he grabbed his phone, it was 5 AM so only two hours had passed!
'So it really was a dream, didn't know I had such rich imagination'
To verify Jin thought of his status and nothing appeared, But when he tried summoning his beast armament the stiletto materialised in his hand, much to his surprise.
In shock he immediately went online and quickly discovered that what happened was a global event.
Plastered over the news, everyone was talking about the other world, news articles were flooding the place. Governments were telling people to act with extreme caution as they had no idea what was happening as well.
From what he read, when a person fell asleep they would automatically be sent to the other world, although the physical body remained in place, and to return you had to go to your bed. Also time seemed to be sped up in the other world with people suggesting a 4 to 8 hour difference.
Jin thought it was ridiculous as he had only spent about 2 hours there but thinking back on it maybe he had slept for a while in the other world, he did not feel tired after all.
Some articles also mentioned the dangerous beasts that roamed outside of the colosseum's, news articles referred to them as shelters. Jin personally thought it sounded less cool but he was not going to complain.
When he read about the few monsters people had seen he was a bit relieved. Apparently they were not as frightening as he initially thought, people spoke of snakes with wings, rabbits with horns, and a bee the size of a fist.
While they were all larger than normal, he expected the bee for example to be similar in size to the butterfly. Being stung by a bee as big as a fist was frightening, but if it were the size of a human, that was horrifying.
As more news articles kept popping up Jin pressed on one that was just posted, its title was concerning.
'If you die in the other world you die in real life!'
The article was short and to the point as it seemed to be a rush job. It spoke of how the reporter's friend had been killed by some sort of monkey, and when he returned from the other world he found his roommate dead, his heart had stopped.
The article ended with a warning for people to be careful. Jin felt shocked and even more remorseful that he hadn't been able to save the man earlier.
But being unable to do anything about it he could only keep it at the back of his mind as he continued searching.
Jin then began searching for news articles concerning Beast armaments, although it was mentioned a few times it seemed no one knew what it was.
He thought it made sense as not many people had likely killed a beast. Looking it up on forums he found no information.
Just as he wanted to continue searching he got a call, 'Mom!'
With all the news going on his family had completely slipped his mind, but now that she called he was filled with worry.
Quickly picking up she immediately sounded relieved but he was still worried and asked, "Mom! Are you Lukas, and Olivia okay"
"Yes, yes we are fine, in fact only your sister and I actually went to the other world. Your brother is too young or something and didn't even know what we were talking about".
As she said it, Jin, indeed did not remember any children being at the shelter, although he definitely saw teenagers, so what was the cut off date, his sister was 17 and had gone but his brother was 14 so it was either 15, 16?
His mother interrupted his thinking "Nothing happened to you right, I heard people saw monsters outside of the shelter".
Jin did not want to worry his mother and recounted that people had seen a massive butterfly outside his shelter but that he stayed inside, she was relieved to hear it. Jin told his mom about the news he had read and the conversation ended with both telling the other to be careful.
Feeling relaxed Jin began thinking about the implications this would have for the world, when he suddenly thought of something he had previously glossed over.
'If one hour in this world is several in the other, doesn't that mean I can have a third part time job?'
