Chapter 1 - Part 1: The Death That Broke Him

Zain Blake was never the emotional type. Born into a powerful and feared family, he grew up with more enemies than friends. But despite the cold world around him, there was always one person who kept his heart warm—his mother, Isabella Blake.

She was the only softness in his world of rules, power, and shadows. She cared when others didn't. She smiled even when the world was cruel. For Zain, she wasn't just his mother—she was his peace.

But everything changed the day she died.

It wasn't just an accident, not in Zain's eyes. Isabella had been returning home when the car she was in suddenly crashed and caught fire. The driver survived with minor injuries, but Isabella didn't. The loss broke Zain completely.

The driver's name was Albert Carter. He had worked for a company connected to the Blake family. At first, no one suspected anything. But within days, rumors started. Whispers in dark rooms. Hints that the car's brakes were tampered with. Some said the driver might have been paid to let it happen.

There was no solid proof. No police case. But in Zain's heart, the pain was stronger than logic. He didn't want explanations. He wanted someone to blame.

Albert Carter became that someone.

What Zain didn't know was that Albert wasn't guilty. He had only been hired to drive that day. Unknown to him, someone else—someone still hidden—had planned everything. Albert didn't question anything. He was just doing his job.

But Zain never waited to hear his side.

A few nights later, Zain walked into the Carter home. He didn't knock. He didn't explain. He simply stepped in with two guards behind him. Albert's family was eating dinner. They froze at the sight of him.

Without raising his voice, Zain said the words that would change their lives.

"Someone in this family is coming with me."

Albert stood up. His face was pale, but he tried to stay strong.

"Please," he said. "I didn't do it. I didn't know anything."

Zain didn't care. He wasn't there to talk. He looked around the room until his eyes stopped on Elena Carter—Albert's daughter.

She looked up at him, scared and confused. She hadn't said a word yet. She didn't even understand what was happening.

Then, something unexpected happened.

Her mother, standing quietly in the corner, spoke softly.

"If it has to be someone… take her."

The room went silent.

Elena's voice cracked. "Mom?"

Her brother shouted in shock, "You can't do this!"

But Zain had already stepped forward. He reached for Elena. She tried to pull away, but his grip was strong. Her father and brother begged him to stop.

"She's innocent!" Albert cried. "She had nothing to do with it!"

Zain looked him in the eye.

"You were driving the car," he said. "That's all I need to know."

He pulled Elena out of the house. The rain started falling harder. Her cries were drowned in the storm. No one could stop him.

That night, Elena's world was taken from her.

She didn't know why.

She didn't know where he was taking her.

All she knew was that her life was no longer hers.

And Zain—he thought he had taken revenge.

But he didn't know the truth.

Not yet.
