"It's fine if you're not full. I'll come find you later," Muye said calmly, giving Gu You a once-over. "Nice suit." With that, he turned and walked away.
Gu You silently watched him leave. That man's identity was anything but simple. The current Sect Master of the Body Sect, a god-rank mecha master, possibly already at the Limit Douluo level, and also a four-word battle armor master.
Since this was the first night of the banquet, both delegations were relatively reserved. Very few even entered the dance floor, and the main focus of the evening remained on conversation. Most guests lounged around, chatting at ease.
Before long, a staff member handed out number tags to everyone. Each person had to affix one to their chest to participate in the upcoming "best of" mini-competitions.
"Our voting process is simple," the host Sima Lanxiao explained. "Each delegation selects five esteemed members for the preliminary nominations. Ten finalists will be chosen for each category: best-dressed male, best-dressed female, most handsome male, most beautiful female, and best dancing couple. Then, everyone will cast votes to select the ultimate winners. But right now, our dance floor still looks too empty. Come on, you're all young! Don't suppress your passion—get out there and dance!"
Sima Lanxiao's voice carried a persuasive allure. Spurred by his words, more and more people began stepping into the dance floor.
"Do you know how to dance?" a clear, shy voice asked from beside Gu You.
He turned to see a girl in a pale blue gown, face slightly flushed, looking at him expectantly.
"I'm sorry," Gu You replied, somewhat apologetic, "I actually don't know how to dance."
"Oh... okay then." The girl's eyes dimmed with disappointment, and she walked away.
Gu You wasn't lying—he truly couldn't dance.
"Want to dance?"
Gu You frowned and looked up, prepared to repeat himself, but the annoyance on his face disappeared instantly when he saw who it was.
It was Gu Yue.
"I really don't know how," he said.
"That's okay. I'll teach you," Gu Yue replied with a soft smile.
"Fine, but don't blame me if I step on your dress and embarrass us both."
"Then I'll just blame my poor teaching skills," she quipped playfully.
Gu Yue turned to face him, raising one hand and placing it gently on his shoulder, while holding his other hand up in the classic dance posture.
"Just follow my lead. Put your hand on my waist," she instructed quietly.
"Alright."
"Here we go."
With a subtle slide of her left foot, she guided Gu You into the dance floor.
'That fast?' Gu You was taken aback but did his best to keep up with her steps.
Her hands moved with grace and control, almost instinctively guiding him. Gradually, Gu You's movements became more fluid. As they followed the rhythm of the music, he started to find his footing.
The young man, handsome and tall; the girl, elegant and radiant—their movements might not have been polished, but their presence caught the eyes of many.
"You're a fast learner in everything," Gu Yue remarked as she led him.
"Of course. Come on, think about who I am. If I say I'm number one in the world, no one dares claim number two," Gu You grinned lazily.
Gu Yue rolled her eyes at him.
As the song ended, the dancers gradually stopped moving. Though it was just a single tune, Gu You had already begun adapting, thanks to his natural coordination and reflexes.
"See? Dancing isn't so bad. Want to go again?" Gu Yue asked with a smile.
Gu You quickly waved his hand. "Nope. Didn't you see how I kept my head down the whole time? I was terrified I'd step on your foot. If I really did, that would've been a disaster. We've still got plenty more banquets ahead. I'll watch and learn from others for now, then invite you again."
"Alright then. I just picked this up recently."
"Huh? I don't recall you ever learning."
"A girl has to keep some secrets. If you boys knew everything, what's the fun in learning?"
"Fair enough..."
Soon, the nominations for the dancing awards began.
To everyone's surprise, Wu Zhangkong was nominated for both Best-Dressed Male and Most Handsome Male.
Maturity really did have its own allure.
As for Best-Dressed Female, both Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan made it to the initial shortlist.
For Most Beautiful Female, all three of Gu Yue, Ye Xinglan, and Xu Xiaoyan were nominated.
Then came the voting.
After rounds of enthusiastic voting, the final results were announced. Gu You was awarded Best-Dressed Male, while Gu Yue won Best-Dressed Female. Most Beautiful Female went to a stunning young lady from the Star Luo Empire delegation. As for Most Handsome Male, the award unsurprisingly went to none other than the cold-faced prince, Wu Zhangkong himself.
When Wu Zhangkong ascended the stage to receive his prize, many clearly noticed a flicker of awkwardness in his expression. This might have been the first time he'd faced such a situation. If not for Elder Cai's presence, he might have declined entirely.
The awards themselves weren't anything grand—mostly local specialty goods from the Star Luo Empire. But through these lighthearted events, the relationship between the two continents' delegations clearly grew more harmonious.
The banquet was a great success. Delegates from both Douluo and Star Luo began mingling more naturally. Though their backgrounds varied—military, academic, commercial, or noble—everyone shared a willingness to connect. Wu Zhangkong had even mentioned that powerful mecha masters and battle armor masters were among the delegates. Naturally, these represented their respective academies.
Later that night, Gu You returned to his room and changed into his regular clothes. It felt much more comfortable. Opening the balcony door, he let the ocean breeze flow in.
The cool wind swept over his face and body, carrying a comforting chill. Gu You inhaled the moist sea air deeply and looked up at the sky.
Tonight's weather wasn't great—no stars, no moon. The ocean lay in total darkness. Only the crashing of waves reached his ears, but that sound carried a strange, calming excitement.
Stepping onto the balcony, he gripped the railing. A purple gleam flashed in his eyes as he activated the Purple Demon Eye and looked down at the sea below.
As expected, the technique's enhancement to his vision proved immensely useful. With help from the ship's lights, he could make out the shifting waters beneath them.
The night had stained the sea black. No light could be found—but the darkness held mystery.
The ocean—this world's vastest expanse. Covering nearly seventy percent of the planet's surface.
Planet…
Gu You fell into thought. Even he was curious about what lay beyond the Douluo Plane.
Astronomy, a new and emerging field of study, had begun to gain traction. Humanity was finally reaching out, trying to understand what lay in the skies above…
