Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Ending the Battle

As the fight went on, the members of the Koa Pirates were adjusting to the strength of their enemies. Despite being unable to defeat them, they could at least stall them for a moment. Kuzan and Sakazuki's battle was also reaching its endpoint, as Sakazuki was getting weaker by the second. Kuzan's strength was something Sakazuki couldn't match, despite his Marine training. Kuzan had been fighting against opponents vastly superior to himself, which forged his current power.

"DAI FUNKA!!!" Sakazuki roared as he threw a punch resembling a volcanic eruption toward Kuzan—something Kuzan had already prepared for. He blocked the punch and countered immediately.

"ICE AGE!" Kuzan retaliated, freezing Sakazuki's entire arm—something thought impossible due to his magma nature. But Kuzan had trained beside an active volcano for a year—one that erupted almost every minute, which forced him to adjust the intensity and precision of his freezing ability. Slowly, Sakazuki began turning into an ice sculpture, his outstretched hand still reaching toward Kuzan.

Before Kuzan could finish the job, Sakazuki severed the frozen arm, turning it into molten lava once again. Kuzan remained calm, breathing almost evenly, while Sakazuki panted heavily. Kuzan was about to press the attack when suddenly, his Observation Haki flared—someone had just launched an ambush.

Kuzan narrowly dodged the incoming strike.

The attacker was Borsalino, who had broken off from his fight with Greenbull to protect Sakazuki. Without hesitation, he grabbed the injured admiral and retreated toward the Marine ship, as Sakazuki urgently needed treatment. Kuzan, surprised that Borsalino had escaped, glanced in concern toward Greenbull's position, expecting him to still be fighting Borsalino.

But instead, he saw Greenbull battling Bogard. With Joichiro and Enel unable to hold off Bogard alone, Kuzan was preparing to assist when Koa's voice rang out in the distance.

"Everyone, return to the ship!" Koa commanded, still locked in combat with Garp. Koa remained clean of blood, while Garp, in contrast, was bruised and wounded. Koa's dog talisman healed every wound he sustained, but Garp had no such luxury. Gradually, Garp began to fall behind.

But Koa sensed several strong presences rapidly approaching. He couldn't afford to face the entire Marine armada while protecting his crew.

Kuzan and the others obeyed Koa's order without interference. Bogard, realizing the futility of continuing, didn't pursue. He understood that if Kuzan, Greenbull, Joichiro, and Enel teamed up, he could be defeated. With Sakazuki already injured and Garp engaged with Koa, Bogard recognized the mission as a failure and wouldn't waste more Marine lives.

Back on the battlefield, Koa noticed his crew had retreated. He grinned at Garp and swung his axe with full force before leaping back toward his ship. Garp blocked the attack but was knocked back slightly. He quickly regained his footing, sensing that Koa was preparing something.

When Koa landed on the ship, he scanned his crew. Most had returned safely. Urf was gasping for air, clearly exhausted, but wore a look of satisfaction. Kuzan was also breathing heavily, though he appeared in control. Greenbull was unwounded but slightly winded, likely from overusing his Devil Fruit and Haki. Unlike Kuzan, Greenbull hadn't yet reached the level of physical mastery to spam his abilities freely. Enel and Joichiro, however, were in the worst condition, battered from their fight with Bogard. Enel, in particular, realized just how underpowered he was in the New World.

"ARE YOU TIRED, BRAT? HAHAHAHA! JUST SURRENDER QUIETLY!" Garp shouted.

"I HOPE YOU CAN STILL LAUGH AT THIS!" Koa answered, dropping his axes and waiting as their ship began transforming into its beast form.

Then, for the first time since obtaining his Devil Fruit, Koa activated the beast form of Ruaumoko. His already large body doubled in size, volcanoes sprouted from his back, and the sky morphed into a churning thunderstorm. His crew stared in awe and terror—this form had never appeared in any sparring match before.

Moments later, Koa completed his transformation. His stone-skinned body dripped with lava. Then, he summoned a massive stone giant, reminiscent of the creature Momoshiki summoned against Naruto and Sasuke's Kurama form.

"Oiii! Pay attention—we're leaving!" Koa shouted to his stunned crew, pointing toward the giant who now stood before Garp. The summon harnessed both magma and earthquake powers to keep Garp, Borsalino, and Sakazuki at bay.

"Oi! Let's go! Their reinforcements are almost here!" Koa repeated. This time, everyone snapped out of it and manned their stations. Enel stayed beside Koa, having already charged the ship's batteries.

Meanwhile, Garp, Borsalino, and Sakazuki stood face-to-face with the massive summoned lava golem.

As the Nautilus finished converting, the Marines caught one last glimpse of Koa's face, smiling, laughing.

Then, the ship dived, vanishing beneath the sea using the built-up energy from Jet Dials, disappearing from the scene in an instant, leaving behind only the Ruaumoko summon.

"GALAXY IMPACT!!!" Garp, furious that Koa had escaped, unleashed his might upon the summon, obliterating it in an explosion. The reinforcements arrived a few minutes later—Sengoku, Tsuru, Kong, and Zephyr—with their fleets.

"What the hell happened here?" Kong managed to ask, but Garp wore an expression of seething anger that made it clear he wasn't in the mood to be spoken to—something Sengoku recognized all too well. It was the same face Garp always made whenever he failed to catch Roger.
