After the birth of dragon- phoenix twins, celebration echoed within the walls of the Go Mansion as HwaHwa sneered in disdain, dusting her robe she calmly looked at the serene Buddha as she scoffed, her challenge still echoing inside the Buddha prayer hall.
Turning her back, she returned to her own courtyard she knew if there was any misfortune during delivery the entire family would have rushed inside the prayer hall to judge her filial piety towards the furen and because of some mistake on her side they suffered the misfortune then she would have received some form of torture which was very common in this household though she was able to escape many times because of LinLin but sometimes they both suffered for each other by the hands of Go Mansion people.
But now that the manor was celebrating no one will care for her to even inform her to go back. Hugging the robe tightly to fight the harsh winter she hurriedly reached her courtyard and her footsteps sounded loudly against the cold floor of her courtyard, as she moved to her room
Suddenly she stopped moving, the lingering silence and cold slaps from the wind made the air coming out of her mouth appeared crystalline, she murmured " deep seated silence like this is the worst form of chaos because it means a predator more dangerous than you have appeared behind you ".
A clap echoed behind HwaHwa " brilliant as expected from the master that Ling Qi is serving with all her heart. Good evening young lady I am La Kun Ling Qi's partner and fiance".
HwaHwa laughed loudly " I think you are mistaken young master La Kun of shadow clan the person that serve me is LinLin my poor dumb servant who sleeps on the floor next to my bed on daily basis and I am the only family that she herself acknowledges, the person Ling Qi you speak of died of blood loss when your wife stabbed her in her heart, maybe all the emotion that she carried for you inside her flew out when the knife plunged in her chest".
La Kun was silent as his deep dark eyes stared at HwaHwa " do you know who you are talking to young lady with just moving my little finger I can kill you in this spot right this second."
HwaHwa looked at him sharply " you can kill me young master La Kun of shadow clan but soon you will be joining for dinner at Yama mansion as LinLin will not leave you alive".
La Kun smiled as if thinking of the good time he shared with Ling Qi " she could never win against me when we used to spar daily in the clan and let me tell you she lost every single time".
HwaHwa laughed she dusted her left shoulder as she spoke" I always thought men were dumb but you are living as a definition for it, Ling Qi may have been defeated by you in your spar but just because the reason for that victory was because in those days you won her heart and now that you have lost any feeling she had for you there is nothing more dangerous than the woman scorned, you yourself can ask her".
HwaHwa while moved an inch to the left, leaving enough space for Ling Qi to release her arrow that she prepared for this moment, as the arrow pierced La Kun's left shoulder, black blood came out of his mouth, he knew in that moment that he was poisoned and remembering Ling Qi's strength when it came to poisons he knew that he will die but when he looked at Ling Qi his eyes had tears coming out of them as he kneeled his eyes were transfixed on Ling Qi, checking her from head to toe, a smile coming on his lips as he whispered
" After seeing you I can die calmly". As the darkness descended La Kun experienced a feeling of calm that had left him since Ling Qi left him.His last words were " I am home".
