"Ma'am you can't do that!" A young lady dressed in a black suit trailed behind Mary Greyhart who was wearing a short red gown that perfectly brought out her hourglass shape.
They both walked through the hallway before getting into an office.
The light that reflected through the glass windows illuminated the room which was painted a gray color.
"You cannot suddenly change the company's heir without proper proof or validation," the lady explained while standing close to Mary who had just sat down on the sofa by the side of the room.
"Listen, I'm telling you he's probably dead, it's been days now and he is nowhere to be found," she replied.
"But still, there should be proof of his death, his body must be found and checked properly," the lady continued.
"Look at this city," Mary suddenly got up from the sofa and walked towards the window.
"Those mindless things must have eaten him up or something, there's no way a kid can survive out there on their own,"
"Two of my sons got separated from me during the earthquake, do you think they'll survive out there?" She then turned to the lady and asked.
"We don't know yet, they could be alive or hiding, we cannot jump to conclusions at this point," the lady answered.
"It pains me to admit it, but they might be dead, so just move on with the transfer,"
"We cannot do that unless the boys are found or there are other evidence, we have already sent out several teams to find even the smallest clue, until then, we are not doing anything," the lady replied as she tried to convince Mary.
"I've heard you, all of you aren't doing your jobs well. Just leave me to myself, am having a rough day," she concluded after letting out a sigh.
"Please understand ma'am," the lady bowed.
Just as she was about to leave, Mr. John Greyhart walked into the office with an unpleasant look on his face.
"The whole city has gone to hell," he yelled out as he walked past the lady, his huge figure slammed her out of the way.
"I'm sorry sir," she apologize even though she wasn't in the wrong.
"Everywhere, every route we tried to take, those zombies were there," he continued as if he didn't hear her apology.
"So what's going to happen now?" Mrs. Mary asked. "All the flights are currently grounded and there is no route outside this city,"
"What is the government doing about this? Do they plan to leave us to die in a place like this?"
"I don't know at this point," Mr. John said as he sat behind the desk close to the window.
The slightly inaudible sound of gunshots firing rapidly could be heard even behind the glass windows.
He then turned to watch what was happening as he saw the carnage happening outside.
"Open fire on them!!" A man dressed in a soldier uniform shouted out to several other soldiers as they defend the building.
The minute the command was given, sounds of gunshots were sent into the air as the soldiers emptied their weapons on the hordes of zombies that kept running at them.
After firing for a while, there seemed to be no end to the zombies.
The bullets had destroyed some of the zombies, while others had several parts of their limbs ripped apart.
"Sir, more are coming from the left," a female soldier alerted her commander immediately she saw several other hordes of zombies running in their direction from the left.
She was looking through a field binoculars as she reported to him.
"Alright men, split into two teams and keep shooting those damn things," the man ordered.
"Don't let them get even a hundred meters close, defend this building at all cost,"
'Where are the reinforcements? They should be here already,' he thought as he gritted his teeth.
"Such a shame to watch this," Mr. John voiced out as he watched from the top of the building in his office.
"In one week, this city had suddenly gone to hell,"
"It's almost as if the government isn't doing anything!"
His wife, Mary, soon sat at his desk as she handed him a file.
"What's this?"
"They're refusing to proceed with the plan," she responded.
"What? Why is that, Sarah?" He asked as his eyes shifted from his wife to his female assistant that stood close to the office door.
"Sir, it's not possible to transfer ownership so easily," she answered with her head bowed.
After looking at her for a while, John clicked his tongue before dropping the file at the right side of his desk.
"I knew it won't be easy,"
"What do we do?" Mrs. Mary asked.
"We will keep managing the company," he answered. "You can leave us, Sarah," he dismissed his assistant.
"Don't worry, it's all for the greater good," Mrs. Mary whispered as she pushed him back and sealed his lips with a long kiss.

Kover stared at the wall clock as his eyes counted every second that went by.
He stood close to the wall of the large room as the ray of the evening sun shone through the open windows.
"Now this is boring," he breathed out along with a long sigh.
"Why would he leave me behind?"
"Did he not want me?"
"Is there nothing I can do to help out?" He kept tossing out questions as if someone would answer.
"I hate this, this feeling of not being able to do anything,"
Just as he was speaking to himself, the door to the house opened without him knowing.
A strange figure walked in quietly after shutting the door, and walked down the hallway, each step taken quietly.
"I wonder how they're doing?" Kover still stood there gazing into the clock.
"I'm so bored right now, I wish I could go outside," he closed his eyes as he lower his head. "Why didn't Ash take me along?"
"He said it was dangerous for me, yet he took everyone else, tsk" he clicked his tongue as he opened his eyes again.
"But then again, I'm glad I'm with him and not with my foster parents,"
"Those old folks were irritating my soul, I even had to share a room with their pet snake" he shuddered upon remembering the pet his foster parents used to have.
"I wonder if they are-" his eyes shifted to the sudden figure that charged at him with a knife.
"Ahhhh!!"
Seeing him jump out of fear, the team burst out in laughter as Ash scared the hell out of him.
"What the hell?" Kover asked angrily.
"What? Why were you scared out of your mind?" He answered his question with a question.
"You're holding a knife for crying out loud, who won't be scared?" Kover asked again.
"Relax, would ya?" Ash tapped his shoulder and walked away from him. "You can't be scared like a little girl, it's embarrassing," he quickly grabbed a seat and sat on it.
"My back is killing me," Gareth complained as they dropped the large box on the floor by the side of a wall far from the hallway.
They each took a seat on the chairs of what looked like a round table.
"Where have you guys been? You spent almost all day outside," Kover let out as he walked closer to them.
"You see we drove out of the city," Jared replied with a smile on his face.
"Out of the city?" Kover asked again anxiously.
"Not out of the city, dimwit!" Sinon hit Jared for deceiving Kover.
"We went to one large field like that, there Ash made us dig this up,"
"What's in there?"
Jared smiled as he held the lid like he was going to open it.
"Ammunition!" His smile broadened even more after he said that word.
"Cut it out, you're creeping me out," Sinon hit him again, this time with more power.
"Hey, stop hitting me," Jared yelled at her.
"Wait... You're kidding right?" Kover asked feeling doubtful.
"Ash, what is he talking about?"
Ash sat the glass of water down by the table close to him after taking a sip from it.
"It's exactly as you heard,"
"Everything inside that box is dangerous, so stay away from it," he warned lightly.
"That's a bit harsh, don't you think?" Jared cut in.
"I know what I'm doing," Ash sent out a cold look toward him.
"What? Why?" Kover couldn't believe his ears when Ash said that.
"Listen," Ash got up from his seat and soon got close to him. "You are not ready to do what they're gonna be doing," he said while patting his shoulder lightly.
"Wait, what?" Sinon asked immediately.
"What are we gonna be doing?" David added.
"Yeah! What they asked," Gareth also chipped in.
"Too many questions guys! Cut him some space," Jared cut their questions.
"What will you be doing with dangerous weapons?" Kover asked still not wanting to back down.
"Isn't it obvious?" Ash asked back. "Killing zombies!" He voiced out with a bad smirk on his face.
