Linda reached out and brushed a speck of dust off her adopted son's body.
"What's so good or bad about it? If you really let him out, he'd only starve to death. Better to keep raising him like this. What can you really expect from someone raised by island natives?"
"But----" James didn't have a chance to finish his sentence before he was interrupted. "No buts. This is my family matter; you don't need to worry about it. Besides, it's almost time for class. You'd better get your daughter to school quickly."
Checking his watch, James realized that Linda was right, and they were indeed about to be late. He hurriedly took his daughter's hand and rushed her towards the school entrance.
James watched his daughter walk into the school alongside that tall Salin, a gratified smile forming on his face. "I still remember what she looked like when she was just born. I can't believe she's grown so much in such a short time."
