Maya Mu stepped out of the elevator, instinctively turned right, walked a few steps while holding the wall, and suddenly stopped. As she turned around, she almost fell because she couldn't stand steadily.
"Uncle?"
Bertha Haines's reaction was quite quick this time. The moment the elevator door opened, she immediately shoved the man in front of her away.
This floor only had two units, hers and Maya Mu's.
So the person coming out of the elevator must be someone she knew.
Glancing at the girl hiding behind her, looking guilty as if she were a thief, Amos Smith cast a slightly displeased look at Maya Mu.
"Do you know what time it is? Why are you only coming back now, and this drunk too!"
Maya Mu initially wanted to question her uncle about why he was here so late, but he preemptively confronted her.
"It was a classmate's birthday. They kept making me drink. I said no, I don't want to drink, but they... they're too sweet-talking, and I was happy, so I drank a couple more glasses."
