Since childhood, Amos Smith had always lived in tidy and comfortable environments because he had a moderate cleanliness obsession. If his clothes got slightly dusty, he'd change them, and if his skin got dirty, he'd take a shower.
But now, there he stood, dusty and disheveled on the rubble, his shiny shoes long covered in mud, and his suit pants and shirt nearly unrecognizable in color.
He kept bending over, moving the stones piece by piece, his hands covered in blood without him realizing it.
