Chapter 10 - Solen Of Dream

Everyone stays up all night. No one was able to close their mind the whole night. And then came the first morning in the world of Obscura Academy. Lyria Solen wakes up with the alarm of music so divine that it feels like it's a part of her. She woke up from sleep, but didn't remember falling asleep. As it was a new morning, she opened her eyes, and for the first time, she felt a sense of freedom, wondering whether she had woken up from a beautiful dream or was still dreaming.

Lyra Solen's room shimmered like dawn caught in glass. Soft light spilt through sheer curtains woven with golden runes, each one pulsing faintly as if aware she was awake. The air smelled faintly of jasmine and old magic, a perfume that seemed to hum with recognition. Her bed, an expanse of pale silk and feathered cushions, shifted slightly, adjusting to her heartbeat, while the marble floor beneath her bare feet glowed in delicate ripples, tracing her steps like devotion.

She stood before the mirror, brushing out her pale hair, each strand catching glimmers of morning light. The mirror didn't just reflect, it responded to her in a way only she knows she understands, but doesn't know how or care to know. The girl in it looked a little more real than she remembered, her eyes brighter, her skin almost radiant. Lyra paused, her breath catching as faint motes of golden dust spiralled from her fingers, like the air itself wanted to dance for her. She knows she is beautiful and always being in the spotlight, but for the first time, she feels beautiful. So this is what it feels like, she thought, her pulse steady but her mind whirling. To belong somewhere that feels like a dream and a memory at once.

She slipped into the uniform, letting the fabric mould to her as if it remembered her shape, each movement echoing softly in the room. Her cloak, still folded at the end of the bed, seemed to quiver, the faint lilac lining shimmering subtly in response to her heartbeat. Around her neck rested her moonlight-shaped pendant, delicate silver catching the morning glow. She touched it, and for the first time, a flicker of warmth coursed through her veins as a tiny spark of the power she had always been meant to wield. Her necklace hums a rhythm with the uniform, like it was meant to be. She wasn't just in Obscura now. Obscura was in her.

Her gaze went to the study where she had found her file last night, and now had an additional note. She found her day 1 of orientation schedule there. A soft smile tugged at her lips. With a final glance at her room, she draped her cloak over her shoulders and let the pendant rest against her chest, its rhythm now perfectly in sync with her heartbeat. The hallways awaited, and the scent of breakfast drifting from the common room guided her steps. As she stepped inside, she found everyone sitting around there, and a table near the far end wall had a light breakfast on it.

As she took some toast and some tea and sat at one of the empty chairs, and placed her tea on the side table, she thought drift to her classmates. They are all different physically as 2 people possibly can, but somehow she knows them, has met them somewhere far away or maybe in future. She always wanted to feel at home, and now she starts to feel that ease, so why would she question anything, no matter how illogical it seems to others? She is away from all the negative things she knows.
