Chapter 2
Jeff was a well built man with purple hair and silver eyes. He was a very cruel man as he looked on with a grin on his face as he watched a few of his slaves bleed out.
The other slaves were working hard sweat all over their bodies and most of them looked like they were gonna pass out from exhaustion.
"This is what happens when you disobey me! Listen here you little shits try to be a hero like these three idiots and you'll end up like them. Dead!" Jeff laughed as he stomped on one of the slaves.
The slave winced before coughing up blood causing the laughter to get louder. Suddenly his laughter stopped as he rose his hand blocking a powerful axe kick.
Jeff turned around as his attacker jumped back. "Ah how lovely, two new toys for me to break in!"
Axel narrowed his eyes. "Lucy!"
"Right. But what about…"She was looking at the three slaves bleeding out.
"It's a shame, but you have to leave them." Axel said. "Get everyone out of here."
"But-"
"Lucy they're already gone." He said. "The best we can do is give them a proper burial when this is all over with."
"It's funny that you think you'll live through this boy."
"Lucy! Go!"
"Fine! But survive this! Don't die on me! Promise me!"
"I won't die. Now go!"
Lucy widened her eyes. That wasn't a promise-but she couldn't waste anything she ran to the slaves and gathered them and released them from their restraints. She told them that no matter how exhausted they were they had to get away.
Once they were out of harms way they could rest then. With the aide of multiple celestial spirits she safely evacuated the slaves.
While Lucy was tending to the slaves wounds she was deep in thought. A lot of these slaves were injured and had slash marks all over their bodies. It was awful.
"Axel….don't underestimate this monster…even the children were injured….you have to win no matter what!"

"You let them get away!" Axel said as the two Mages exchanged blows. "Why?"
Jeff chuckled. "Not bad kid. I'm moving pretty fast and here you are keeping up with me, not breaking a sweat…but to answer your question it's because I'll end this shortly and have my slaves return to me without fail."
"We'll see about that." Axel said. Jeff grinned before jumping up.
The raven's grape colored purple eyes widened as an arc of wind headed his way. Axel jumped out of the way and luckily for him too.
The building behind him was sliced in half causing the top part of the building to slide off and crash into the ground. Axel knew that this wouldn't be an easy battle.
The village chief said as much. He had killed every Mage that was sent after him after all.
What an impressive brat, but he has to die! Thought Jeff
Axel looked at him before appearing behind him instantly.
"Water Dragon's Rapids Kick!" As soon as he appeared behind Jeff his right leg was enshrouded in water which spirals around like a whirlpool.
Jeff cried out in pain as the kick tore through his skin and he was sent flying. He cursed. He should've never let down his guard. What an idiot he was. He grunted as he received a punch and another…
Axel watched as Jeff crashed through an unoccupied building. As much damage as he was dealing out he was certain it wasn't enough to take Jeff out.
And sure enough Jeff jumped from the wreckage of the building a grin plastered on his face. "Your amazing kid! Seriously!"
Looking closer it seemed he had injured him as he looked sluggish. Maybe he could win this after all? He had to! For everyone's sake.
If he lost here Axel knew that this bastard would probably make Lucy a slave and his friends at fairy tail would undoubtedly come to avenge him.
The thought of losing anyone precious to him scared the hell out of him.
"Wind creation magic; Viper's bite!"
Axel widened his eyes as Jeff appeared in front of him, the bastard let the wind form into a snake with red eyes. Jeff laughed as the attack pierced him blood spilling onto the ground.
He winced as he fell to the ground crying out in pain.
"Axel!" Lucy had eyes wide with fear. The thought of her best friend losing seemed unthinkable. He was just so powerful!
"Lu-ACK!" Axel coughed up blood, He could start to see blotches in his vision. The last thing he saw was Jeff appearing behind Lucy knocking her out.
"LU…-" all Axel knew was darkness as his eyelids slowly closed

Erza opened her mouth with surprise as she read a letter from Axel she had received not too long ago.
Neesan please promise me you won't get involved in this mission. If you guys are always saving me I won't have time to grow. And if you can keep the others from rushing to help me. Please. I'll owe you one. I promise I'll definitely return.

Erza sighed. From the sound of it he was determined to complete this mission. Very well Otouto. Be careful….
Erza had faith in her brother. He was really strong for a thirteen year old. He had a drive. A drive to protect those that meant the world to
Him. He had so many loved ones here at fairy tail.
Erza was no idiot, she was aware of his affection for Mirajane, not long after he joined the guild years ago he had developed a crush in her. She imagined his love only grew for her everyday.
Her only fear was that when he finally worked the courage up to ask her out in
The future that she would turn him down and break his heart.
If she ever did anything to hurt him there would be hell to pay.
Erza knew Axel would be ok. She had faith in his strength.
"Good luck Otouto and come back to us safely." Said Erza softly. She decided to get ready for bed as she planned to do training the following morning.
….
A few days later
"What are you doing? Master isn't that the request for Axel and Lucy? Why are you putting it back up for?"
"Because….they failed…i got word from the village chief….Axel lost, not only that but it seems like he didn't make it."
Everyone had tears in their eyes. It couldn't be!
Axel couldn't be dead.
"Axel…."
"Axel-Kun!"
"No….!"
....
The village chief was in the midst of digging a grave. It was the least he could do for the boy who had tried so hard to save the village.
Cough Cough Cough
The village chief widened his eyes as he looked at Axel coming to. The boy was still alive.
"Ugh. I feel like shit." He said
"Zombie!"
Axel chuckled before holding his body in pain. He winced before standing up. "I have to save Lucy and make that bastard pay!"
"Your in no condition to fight. You'll surely die this time! I hate to say it but you'll have to recover before going off to face him again."
Axel sighed but realized he was right. He allowed the chief to lead him inside the house. He could already feel himself healing.
He was sure in a day or two he'd be fine. He had a dragons healing after all. For now all he could do was hope Jeff didn't do anything too bad to Lucy.
And sure enough two days later the young slayer was fully healed. In those two days he had a lot of time to think being bedridden and all.
He realized he needed to do some training, unfortunately Lucy and the slaves would have to wait. He had to become strong enough to beat that bastard so they could all walk away alive.
