Chapter 1
"Water Dragon Claw attack!" Axel exclaimed as water extended from his finger tips and sharpened as he charged his opponent.
"Weak! Stop holding back!" No other than Erza scarlet said as she swung her blade.
Axel frowned. "I don't want to hurt you Erza! Your like a sister to me. I love you…I could never hurt you."
"Awww." Said most of the guild. The bond between Axel and Erza was solid, they were like actual siblings.
Those words warmed Erza's heart. Axel was a good kid and he always protected those he cherished.
Axel was no weakling, while being no match for Erza or wizards like Mira or Laxus he was more than a match for someone like Natsu.
Natsu was a fire dragon slayer but despite them being fire and Ice Axel always won because of how fast he was. He was way faster than Natsu.
"Come! There's no way you could hurt me!"
Erza widened her eyes as he appeared behind her.
"I forgot he's a fast little shit!"
Everyone wondered if Axel would beat Erza but as it turns out the redhead wasn't so weak
Axel's eyes widened as he flew towards the bar/kitchen area, Erza's leg extended.
Everyone watched as the boy slammed against the stall. His back erupting into pain.
Axel held his back and was clearly in pain. Erza ran to him and apologized as he just laughed it off telling her it just meant he needed more training.
Natsu looked at Axel and pointed at him before laughing.
"I knew you couldn't beat her!" Natsu exclaimed
Axel stood up and glared at the pyro. "At least I could beat you." He smirked
"Why you!" Natsu began running at the younger slayer. "I'll Kill you!"
"Whoa there!" Gray exclaimed holding Natsu back. "He's only 13. Relax idiot."
The salamander growled before walking away muttering about stupid water Dragon slayers.
Axel chuckled. Natsu was an idiot but he'd be fine after he cooled down a bit. He wasn't a bad guy.
"Here you go Axel." Came a feminine voice from behind him. "It looks like you could really use this."
Axel blushed. Just hearing her voice made his face turn red. Erza smirked. She couldn't wait to tease him later.
The young Dragon Slayer turned to face Mirajane Strauss who smiled softly at him. There was a plate of food on the counter.
Axel was feeling pretty hungry so he took Mira as the guild liked to call her up on her offer.
Gray looked at Mira and laughed a little. Mira was pretty intelligent and picked up on things most people wouldn't. That's why it was so surprising that Mira didn't know about the little crush Axel had on her.
Axel smiled as he enjoyed the food. He always enjoyed Mira's cooking. To him it was the best food in the world.
He would choose her food over any restaurant or junk food any day. Axel chowed down and after five plates or do he sat back in his chair.
He closed his eyes and smiled. "That was good Mira."
The Takeover Mage smiled and thanked him for his words.
A sigh was heard. "I really need a partner. Natsu is who knows where and Erza went off somewhere."
Axel opened his eyes and looked at Lucy who was gazing at the request board with a determined look.
"…..I need to pay that rent. Guess I'm gonna have to go on a solo mission. All these missions look tough."
Axel stood up and made his way up to Lucy causing her to look at him. "I'll go with you Luce." He said
"Are you sure? I can go it alone…"
"Duh. I wouldn't feel right if I let my best friend die because she didn't have a teammate to go on this mission."
Lucy looked surprised. "Best friends? You and me?"
Axel blinked. "Yeah. I thought that's what we were. We are aren't we?"
It was true though that they were really close friends. They would go to restaurants together when they got hungry and would train together sometimes. When Lucy got lonely at home he would visit her, sometimes he would even spend the night over.
"Of course we are." Lucy said.
"What mission did you have in mind?" The Dragon Slayer asked
"Well….since you're coming with we can do a more challenging Mission, one with more of a reward." Lucy said
"Ah. This one looks promising." Lucy said picking up one of the request papers. After looking at it for a moment she handed it to him.
Please if anyone is reading this send help. For over a year now our village has been ravaged by bandits. They take our children. Our women. Please. I know it's a tall task. The bandit's leader is an S class Mage and is known to rival that of Fairy Tail's Laxus.
The leader is Jeff and he is known for his Wind Creation magic. Be wary he's stronger than he appears.
"Sounds interesting." Axel smiled and threw his hand in the air which was soon clapped by his blonde Bestie. "Let's do this."
"Hai."
"We're going on a mission guys!"
"Be safe you too!"
Chuckling was heard.
"Give 'em hell!"

"I feel like shit…." Axels cheeks puffed up.. Lucy rubbed his back and told him it would be ok.
"Get me off this train!"
Lucy chuckled. All Slayers had motion sickness as it would turn out.
"How much longer?!"
"At least another three hours."
"Fuck!"

"FREEEDOM!!!"
Lucy laughed as Axel ran out the train like his life depended on it. After a moment she followed after him.
The two Fairy Tail Mages made their way around the town and man…it was bad. The village looked run down.
Children were seen digging through trash. Women were giving their bodies away for just the little bit of money and men were assaulting women and forcing themselves on them
After awhile Axel and Lucy finally made it to the Village Chief's home where he invited them in and offered them tea which they accepted.
"You know it's nice to see a couple with such a age gap it's rare these days." Said the old man
"She isn't my girlfriend. She's my best friend. My family." Said Axel. as he looked at Lucy who had a red face from embarrassment. "Although I do have to wonder how is it you don't have a boyfriend. Your as beautiful as Mira.
Lucy scratched her head and laughed.
The old man looked like he wanted to ask about this Mira girl but decided to get onto other matters.
"Now as I'm sure you e seen around the village Jeff has made a mess of this village." Said the Chief
"That's putting it lightly." Said Axel. "How can a simple bandit cause all this?"
"I'm sure you read the request right? Jeff is said to be as powerful as Fairy Tail's Laxus. In speed Laxus might have the upper hand but in the aspect of causing more damage to the human body Jeff would win for sure. He's so powerful he's defeated every Mage we've sent after him and all of them were either S class or close to it."
Axel for the Clyde family rowned.
"I didn't answer your question did I? How rude of me. Jeff has asked for every citizen to pay an unreasonable amount of tax every month. 300,000 Jewels."
The best friends widened they're eyes. They could only imagine what Jeff did to those who were unwilling to pay.
"To those who couldn't pay he would kill the fathers while he would put the children into slavery. The females are always used for the bandits pleasure."
Axel's face morphed into a furious look as the old man explained the village's situation.
"Where is he now?" Axel asked
The old man noticed the anger in the young boy's eyes. Lucy did as well and when she did she gained a sad look in her eyes.
Axel…
"You can find him on the outskirts of town." The old man said. "Be extra careful he isn't the most sane of people."
"Yeah. We got that much from your story." Said Lucy as Axel stood up.
The blonde soon joined her friend as Axel and her thanked him for the tea. Without any words they headed out taking off running.
"How are we gonna find this guy? The outskirts of town is a pretty vague idea of where this guy's at y'know?" Lucy asked
"I'm a dragon Slayer Luce." He replied. "I can smell him."
"Are you certain it's him? What makes you think it's him?" Asked Lucy
"Well I'm picking up the scent of sweat and blood. And from what I'm picking up it's a lot Cmon Luce let's hurry!"
"Right!"
