Chapter 44 - MAKING THE DEVILS CRY

"Are you really sure that you want to see the upcoming show?" Prescott was inside Ashleah's room, as for the princess who was busy looking at her outfit for the exciting event that would happen in a few hours.

She was wearing a high golden decorative collar, a white corset bodice and a white open to collarbone bust with 3/4 sleeves, and golden tapered cloth. A goldish gathered bustle and tapered overskirt. She was also wearing small silver earrings and a platinum oval shape sapphire and three diamond stone ring.

A soft giggle escaped her mouth as she turned around to face Prescott who was obviously worried for her. "Oh my. Prescott, it's like you are acting like you don't know you master hmm?" she said with a triumphant smile plastered on her face.

"The party won't start without me. Stop worrying, I wanna see their faces and where they got the courage to do those horrific crimes to two noble ladies." She said as she sat down in front of her mirror, Nanny Riley started to brush her hair.

"I guess you are quite right about that since his Majesty already included you inside the plan ever since." Prescott said as he slowly spread his wings, and flew his way to her. "Yet, I am still your loyal servant so that is when you need my help, please just do call my name."

Prescott couldn't stop talking making Riley and Ashleah chuckle to themselves. "My, you should calm down Prescott. It's not like his Majesty would let anyone hurt his precious daughter." Riley finally spoke up as she braided Ashleah's hair.

"Nanny Riley is right. I will call you when I need you mm? And also! Stop reacting like you aren't with us. Oh, can you please check up on Giulia and Aziel?" Lightly turning her head to the side and smiled at Prescott, the bird shook his head and soon then flew away to the garden where the two kids were playing.

After a few seconds, her hair was finally done. Ashleah's hair was tied up into a braided bun, she giggled and quickly hugged her nanny Riley. "Thank you so much Nanny!"

Meanwhile, Nash bowed his head and walked out of the throne room on his way to pick-up Ashleah. Emperor's orders, but then he stopped when someone held his shoulder, obviously the Duke was always high on his guards, he was about to punch the one who held him, but he heard the soft chuckle from a familiar person making him feel relaxed.

"Seriously, don't touch or hold someone like that—" He turned his head around, and smiled. "—Axis." Nash finished what he was saying making Axis laugh.

"Oh dear, I'm so sorry. I forgot about that. Duke Deoncan always has to keep his guard high because a lot of enemies are around him hmm?" Nash rolled his eyes and walked away, making Axis laugh and run behind him.

Knock! Knock! Nanny Riley opened the door and was welcomed by Duke Deoncan and Axis who tilted his head and waved his hand.

"Her Imperial Highness, Princess of Genry Greetings!" Both said in sync, Ashleah looked back and chuckled at them. She did a little curtsy and gestured her hands to the door, meaning that Nanny Riley should go outside.

"Greetings Duke Deoncan, Greetings Axis. What brings the two of you here inside my room ehh?" She said in a formal way, completely teasing the two.

"Aww, her highness is being formal to us!" Axis exclaimed making Ashleah scoff and Nash laugh. "Enough with this, you really want to see their faces?"

"Yes. Yes, I do." She said, the trio looked at each other and smiled like they were small kids.

----------

Finally, as Ashleah went down the carriage, she felt the warm breeze of the wind against her skin yet she also feels the tension that was now growing because, they are now in front of the mansion of their suspected next victim.

"Your Majesty! Thank you so much for coming to our humble home—" The count continued to praise and say his regards to her father making Ashleah chuckle.

As her eyes landed on a woman maybe in her teens, she soon then walked to her, making the woman shiver in fear. "H-Her Imperial Highness, Princes o-of Genry Gr-Greetings!" Ashleah was about to open her mouth but suddenly—

"Her Imperial Highness, Princess of Genry Greetings!—" A woman in her mid 40's interrupted her, now that looks like the mother of the woman who was still shaking in fear. "I am very sorry that my daughter is stuttering when she—"

"It's fine for me Countess. Lady Dallas, please do calm down. I know for a fact that what may happen today is quite scary, but we are here to help you. Hmm?" She tilted her head and gave her a warm smile.

Slowly, Lady Dallas' breathing started be stable. She stopped shivering making Ashleah sigh in relief, Ashleah slowly held her hand and gave her another warm smile.

"You know the plan mmm?" She said, completely ignoring the Countess who was trying her very best to catch her attention. Ashleah looked back at the Countess, the woman was about to speak up but she just gave her a smile and walked away with Lady Dallas.

---------

No one was speaking up, Ashleah look in front and saw Nash. They were the only ones inside the room, yes. Everyone had their own assigned rooms for the plan that they came up with.

Both looked at each otherand smirked as they heard a lot of footsteps on its way to Lady Dallas' room. "Guess we were right huh?" Nash whispered making Ashleah smile and nod her head.

They heard the door opened, Nash quickly yet silently opened the door beside them and looked around. There was no one inside the hallways so Ashleah ran to the other door inside the room and knocked on it but not too hard.

"Sh*t's about to go down." Both cursed with a smirk plastered on their face. Kian and Gab silently ran to the door, they heard A LOT of people talking— actually, scratch that they were arguing.

Gab looked at them, and last at Emperor Adler and he nodded his head, meaning that they should open the door now. Gab and Kian quickly opened the door and pointed their swords at them.

"If you try to fight us, that would just add more crimes." Kian told them, there were a total of 6 mens. Ashleah looked around and saw Lady Dallas quivering in fear.

She felt ticked, a tsk sound came out from her mouth making them look at her. Ashleah just raised an eyebrow and shrugged her shoulders. "Seriously, they are pissing me off."

"Ashleah, calm down. The real show is just beginning okay?" Emperor Adler whispered behind his daughter, the princess sighed and nodded her head.

"I told you, they were planning this all along!" A man shouted and pointed at another man with a masculine built. "I was right all along!"

The princess wandered her eyes, and she slowly walked beside Nash and asked him "Nash, are they the one? Do you recognize them?" she whispered, looking back at the current situation in front of them.

"Mmm, we got it the first try huh?" He smirked, making Ashleah shake her head and sigh. "Bring the person in Axis." Nash whispered, Axis nodded.

Axis lightly held her shoulder and softly said that– "It's going to be alright, you already said that it's okay right?" The woman nodded her head as the tears she was trying to hold back fell but she quickly wiped it away from her cheeks.

The man was about to attack Gab, but then the woman walked behind him making the 6 men stop and freeze on the spot.

"W-What are you doing here!?" The man exclaimed, he was quite surprised— No, they were all surprised. "Why are you with them!?"

"N-No! Why? Why are you doing this?" She sobbed, finally the tears dropped one by one, the 6 men removed their masks with their face completely surprised. "You promised, you wouldn't do anything that would hurt others—"

Ashleah felt like there was something squeezing her heart, and as she looked at those men, her eyes widened as she saw how tears dropped one by one from their eyes.

"—Why are you doing this, my BROTHERS?"

They didn't fail, they MADE THE DEVILS CRY.
