"So that's the plan?" Prescott blurted out. Nash and Ashleah nodded their heads. Gab and Kian chuckled, Axis clapped his hands for he was very impressed when the Duke and Princess' ideas got collided into one.
"Yes, why? Is there something wrong with the plan? Want to change a few things guys?" Ashleah questioned them, but her Father shook his head and smiled lightly. "So, is it final for everyone?"
"It is. But I also want for Gab, Kian, Prescott with Axis to create all sorts of back-up plans for we do not hold what may happen in the near future. We just can't go with just one plan, don't we?" Emperor Adler said as he slowly yet elegantly wore the golden crown on his head again.
"I do agree with his Majesty. We cannot feel so secure even when our plan seems perfect for you. Princess Izel and I will ready the original plan. Let's catch those devils shall we?" Nash said with a smirk on his face, Ashleah with a small smile yet chuckling face slowly shook her head.
As everyone started to go outside the throne room, Emperor Adler cleared his own throat and spoke "Please do stay inside, Duke Deoncan, Princess Izel and Axis. I have some questions for the three of you."
The trio stopped in the middle of their tracks. As Axis felt his heart to beat a little faster than it was earlier. Nash lightly furrowed his eyebrows, deep inside he felt uneasy and there was something that the Emperor would probably say that might sound uncomfortable for them.
On the other hand, Ashleah was clueless that there was a tension of uneasiness building everybody up. "Your Majesty, what are you going to tell us?"
"I do think that this is the right time to tell you what really is happening to our empire since I do find you so passionate to your own work, duties to the empire-" Everyone that was left inside the room was anticipating what the most respected Emperor of all time. "-A long time ago there was a huge conflict with the two kinds of magician with Genry Empire."
Ashleah and Nash's eyes widened as their ears almost grew bigger for they were so intrigued with what the Emperor Adler has to say about the magicians. This might be the answer to their questions to break both of their curses.
"The two magicians were Black and White magicians. As slowly the conflict that started with who was going to stay at the tower inside the Imperial Palace, it ended with a huge war. They almost swept half of each others people. The conflict ended with what we have now. But-"
Ashleah felt like everything went blur as a stinging sound came across her ear when her Father finished what he was saying, as tears slowly dripped down her cheeks. Her heart felt heavy as she felt Axis' hand on her shoulder. The princess looked back at the future high priest with a trembling smile plastered on her face.
"Axis, please do not-"
"We can fight through this, we are strong aren't we?" He blurted out while his eyes landed on Nash who's breathing started to hitch for he was so surprised because of the truth being revealed to them in this very room.
"Never knew that the enemy was that close but still.. it feels like they are so far away." Nash said, still looking at nowhere. Emperor Adler sighed and soon then nodded his head, agreeing with what Nash said.
"They are indeed very far from us. We don't have that much sources when it comes to magic. The empire is still lacking, it is very hard to admit it but when another war pops up Genry might loose." He said making Axis gasp, Ashleah and Nash remained silent for they knew that this would soon come.
"Then, what are we going to do?!" Axis started to panic, his trembling hands found its way to his hair as he ruffled his soft and neat hair. "T-They can attack us any moment Your Majesty!"
"Axis, please calm down. Father won't have the courage to tell us this when he doesn't have any plans. Am I right?" Ashleah said, making her father smile for his daughter knows him so much. Emperor Adler cleared his throat. before finally speaking.
"Yes, Princess Izel is indeed right about that. Do not worry, I already have plans that might even flood your drawers inside your brain. For now, I will send you the letters and the contents of my plans. Please do keep this a secret for now."
The trio nodded their heads, as soon as they finished talking they walked outside the throne room with a very worried expression. Even if the Emperor himself told them that they shouldn't feel like this, they couldn't help it.
"That was quite some news ha?" Nash blurted out. He was trying to lighten up the mood that was ruined because of the things they found out earlier. "Come on guys, don't get too much distracted with what the Emperor told us. We still have other things to do, hmm?"
Due to what Nash said it was like they were sent back to reality. "AH. Yes, I almost forgot about that. Thank you for reminding us." Ashleah said as she started to massage her forehead while releasing deep breaths.
"I guess Nash is indeed right. Let's just face this problem first, and then the bigger problem later. But! I have a question for you both." Axis said, he stopped walking, turning around and facing both of them. The two had a confused expression, while waiting for Axis to ask the question, the man smirked.
"Axis, seriously if that's not that important I would—" Ashleah couldn't finish what she was saying when Axis started laughing, the man quickly stopped and continued with his question.
"The rumors are spreading quite quickly these days. I never knew that sleeping on each other's shoulder are that comfo—"
Ashleah and Nash's eyes quickly widened. The Princess' lips slowly opened, with a little tint of red flushed cheeks they both called out for— "Axis!" they said in sync.
"W-What are you even talking about?" Nash blurted out, avoiding the teasing gaze from their friend. "Stop spouting nonsense seriously!" He said, still avoiding the gaze from Axis.
"Nash is right. You a-are just talking nonsense!" Ashleah added, they were both avoiding the gaze from Axis.
To the point that they ended up looking at each other. Both of their eyes widened as they quickly looked back at the opposite directions of each other.
Axis started laughing again as he wiped the fake tears away from his eyes. He did really find it funny that these two right in front of him are doing their best to try and hide what they feel for each other.
Almost everyone in the Palace and some nobles find it suspicious with what's going between the Princess and the Duke Deoncan. Based on rumors, they weren't even that close, not until before the Princess' 16th birthday.
The future high priest giggled to himself, making Ashleah and Nash furrow their eyebrows. Meanwhile, Axis was having his thoughts fly everywhere.
His imagination went everywhere. He knew for a fact that Ashleah and Nash would be a great couple and their soon to be wedding would be one of the greatest weddings ever!
He also knew that they will be great rulers of Genry. Oh my! Their children would probably be the cutest little beans ever! But, he also knew that if both of them likes another person, he wouldn't try to force them to be together.
Their life, their choice.
Meanwhile, the two was just looking weirdly at the man who was smiling widely.
