Chapter 26 - HUNT

As she wore the skinny pants that were black, she wore her white long sleeves polo with a gold collar, finally Ashleah took her knee length black cape with silver glitters below it. A satisfied smile escaped the Princess' face as she then again stare at herself.

"Your highness, are you sure that his Majesty won't get mad with what you are planning?" Nanny Riley exclaimed as her trembling hands gave Ashleah her bow and arrow and a dagger that is especially owned by the Imperial Family.

A small chuckle escaped her lips as she took everything from her nanny and continued fixing herself for the hunt today. "Nanny, don't ya worry. I'll just prove it to them that I can also do it.' The princess gave her nanny a sweet smile, making the old woman nod in response with a very proud smile.

After putting everything in place, Ashleah took the last glance and ran to the window making her Nanny run behind her. "Your highness, what are you going to do?!" The old woman shrieked but not too loud so that she won't cause any commotion.

An excited smile escaped Ashleah's lips. In her 6th life, she loved climbing and jumping from high towers to bottom. She stretched her body and thanked the designer inside her mind because the clothes were flexible for moving around. "Nanny, say to them I'm already at the hunt!"

What she did next made Nanny Riley's heart drop, she stood up on the window's edge and saw a tree beside it. Not even looking back, Ashleah jumped off and successfully landed on a tree. She smiled and gave her Nanny a thumbs up who answered back with a shaking thumbs up.

A giggle escaped from her lips as she slowly jumped off the tree and she then wore the cape on her head, started running freely like she was someone who took something from the Imperial Princess. Her eyes widened when she saw some guards coming her way, the woman quickly climbed up a branch of the nearest and small tree to her.

"My, the Duke, The blessed child of God, and The Emperor himself is very fond of our princess." The man said while smiling, it was like they were doing some rounds before the hunt inside the Imperial Palace's forest.

"The princess matured and learned about things that are happening inside the empire." The other knight answered back, they both nodded but then, the first man who spoke sighed and massaged his neck slowly.

"But do they know what's happening-" The other knight quickly covered the man's mouth and widened his eyes at him, making Ashleah furrow her eyebrows and confusion slowly ate her. The man that was being covered using the palm of the hand of the other knight nodded in defeat.

"Don't talk about it." The knight said before walking away, after a few more steps and now they're gone. Ashleah quickly jumped off, she was about to run away someone called out her name.

"Ashleah, what the hell?" The princess recognized the voice in a blink of an eye. Turning around with a bright smile on her face, she saw Nash staring at her with the most confused face ever. Tilting his own head, his left eyebrow raised, arms were crossed against his chest.

"Yo Duke!" They both knew that every one that will hear their conversation will get confused for they were using words that aren't that familiar with them. "Nash, tell me I look cool!"

"MEH, YOU SUCK." he blurted out, Ashleah scoffed and was about to hit him, but she stopped in mid air. "What are you wearing though?" He asked, but then realization hits him a like a truck. "It's a no for me."

"Stop being a basher Nash." She then rolled her eyes and pouted her lips. "I was planning on surprising you too, but you're such a killjoy person!" She said half teasingly. The man raised both of his eyebrows, amazed with how Ashleah was acting.

"It's not like I can literally say no to you." He sighed in defeat. "Let's go, your the hostess for today right?" He smirked, Ashleah also gave him a smirk that it was like they were signaling each other that it's a fight.

Finally getting inside the venue, Ashleah took a deep breath and continued to look down. She saw how her Father's eyebrows moved, and his eyes were wandering around. He shrugged and started talking.

"Greetings! Welcome to the Hunting Competition of the Imperial Family!" He said, still looking around. Ashleah chuckled and moved closer to the stage. "My daughter, Princess Ashleah Izel Reece is still not—"

"I'm here Father." Ashleah said before taking off the cape on top off her head, hearing gasps from everyone. Nash shook his head with a smile.

"Ashle—" he stopped mid way and smiled for he knew what his daughter was planning "—Well then, please do around of applause for her highness, Princess Izel."

"Greetings to everyone that attended for today! I know that the way I dress may seem uncomfortable for you, but I thought should I change things up a bit? I am joining the hunt." She said with full of confidence, the women gasped and covered their faces using their fans.

Young men were impressed that they started clapping, older men that are on their 30's to 40's were giving her the 'Are you serious?' look.

"This may seem weird, but yes. We can still choose the winner for those who can get the biggest wild animal inside the forest—" she stopped and smiled a bit, trying to find where Axis was. As soon as she saw him with Nash, she sighed in relief. "—And yes, we are still giving you the unknown price that only the Imperial Family knows."

She saw how their expressions changed, good thing Ashleah stopped herself from rolling her eyes. People in this kind of era, all they care about is power, power, POWER.

"Let's begin with the hunt, shall we?" She took out her bow and arrow, smiled brightly. Gab shook his head before tapping the wooden stage using a baston.

Every men who will participate and Ashleah quickly stood up on the starting point, she was in the middle of Axis and Nash. She giggled and secretly gave them both a high five.

"Goodluck, Princess." Axis whispered, showing his signature smile. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she nodded her head.

"Goodluck, Princess." Nash whispered, she smiled back at them and looked ahead. The fun was about to start!

They quickly ran into the woods, she gave her final look to her Father and gave him a reassuring smile that she can do this.

Ashleah quickly ran to the little pond near her, a bright smile crossed her lips, as her eyes gleamed as she saw a deer drinking water. She took out her bow and arrow and was hiding behind the bushes.

She was ready to release the arrow, taking the 3 last breaths. She released the arrow and.. BULSE EYE! She quickly ran to the deer and pouted while patting its head.

"I'm sorry for killing you." she pouted, and wrapped the deer's right foot with a green cloth. Yes, everyone that participated in the hunt has their own colors.

In the end of the hunt, assigned knights will find animals with their designated colors on it. But who will take home the wildest one?

The hunt continued and Ashleah leaned against the tree as she felt that she was slowly getting tired, but then her eyes widened when she heard a loud roar near her.

"Oh God, is that what I think it is?" She knew that there may be bears inside their forest but this! SHE WAS TOO TIRED TO FIGHT! The princess stood up and roamed her eyes around.

"Ashleah!" She quickly looked back and saw Nash running to her. He quickly held her shoulders and tried to make a run for it.

"Stop it, Nash! Why are you pulling me around?" She asked, he stared at her and sighed. "Oh, is it because of the bear?"

"Yes!" He answered and that made her giggle.

"Nash, stop being scared! We even lived for a couple of days after we got banned right? We can do this!" She was talking about their very first past life.

"Oh, you wanna do the old one?" He smirked, Ashleah quickly held her bow and arrow tightly and smiled.

"Of course, I missed it." They both chuckled and quickly ran off to two different directions. "Ah! Finally, some fun!"
