Chapter 16 - MISSION

Ashleah was confused, but then a woman in her late 30's walked to her. Her black hair was tied into a bun, wearing an old fashion maid outfit.

Her eyes widened and there she realized it, this woman was her nanny! "Oh my, Princess Izel. Why are you looking at me like that?" The woman giggled and slowly pushed the soft blankets away from Ashleah's body.

"Na-Nanny Riley?" Her voice cracked as tears streamed down her beautiful face. The woman's eyes widened and quickly moved closer to Ashleah.

"Why are you crying, my dear princess?" She asked, Ashleah couldn't help but sob as she hugged the woman tightly, gripping on her clothes and crying her heart out.

"Y-You're here! But no—" Ashleah quickly pulled away and looked directly at her nanny's eyes, and then she continued talking. "Why? Why am I here?! I wasn't here!" Her eyes were panicking.

"What are you talking about Princess Izel? Are you okay? Do you need a little more rest?" The woman was deeply concerned. Sighing deeply she hugged the princess and lightly tapped its back. "It's going to be okay, you're going to be 16 soon Princess."

Choking on her own saliva, Ashleah started coughing uncontrollably, making the woman pull away from their hug and look at her with that furrowed eyebrows and concerned eyes.

'16? Oh God no...' Ashleah thought, her heart started beating more loudly "Nanny, who am I?" She asked seriously making the old woman laugh, standing up from her bed the woman smiled.

"My, my. Our Princess Ashleah Izel Reece is confused." The nanny said before turning her back and walked to Ashleah's bath, meanwhile the girl was confused and scared. 'What happened? Nash.. WHAT ABOUT NASH?'

Standing up, still processing with what's happening right now. Ashleah quickly ran to the big mirror inside her room. "AHHHHH!" she shrieked loudly, making the knights that are guarding her room open the gold and marble gigantic door.

"Princess Izel!" Looking at them, Ashleah covered her mouth and felt all her weight went down making her kneel down the floor, tears streaming down her face. Gab and Kian quickly ran to their Princess, panicking.

"Princess Izel, what happened?!" Coming out from the bathroom, Nanny Riley ran to her, kneeling down beside her. "Are you really sure that you are okay?" She slowly caressed Ashleah's long brunette hair, trying to calm the crying princess.

"Y-You guys are here!" She exclaimed while crying more. That made the three of them giggle, sighing in relief Gab knelt down and smiled at the Princess.

"Your highness, we will never leave you. Why are you crying so much?" Her eyes were in awe, the two men who took oath to protect her at all costs even though they are just 18 year old's were right in front of her. AGAIN.

"I-I had a bad dream.. I'm sorry for making you panic." Sniffling, she wiped her tears using her fingers, Ashleah was about to say something but suddenly she heard a lot of shouting. Blinking her eyes, she turned her head to the door.

"Lord Nash! You can't barge in-" The man with pitch black hair and his red eyes were flaming mad. He was wearing a dark blue cloak that has gold chains to connect both sides and black long sleeve buttoned shirt, with a white fabric that was connected to his shirt using a gold brooch, a pair of grayish trousers pants, for the final look he was wearing black almost knee high boots. "Oh dear, Duke Deoncan will definitely kill me this time!" The butler drastically said.

Standing up, making Nanny Riley, Gab, and Kian confused. Ashleah slowly walked to Nash, with her awkward and worried smile. 'I feel like he's the Nash I know from my present time..'

"Her Imperial Highness, Princess of Genry. Greetings." The man gave her proper greetings, she gulped as she saw how his facial expression didn't even change in one bit. "May I ask some time alone with her highness?" Looking at the trio, Gab gasped quickly and shook his head.

"As you can see, Lord Nash I am still in my sleepwear, it may be better to talk later. As for everyone please do not bother to tell this matter to Father." She gave them a strict look and everyone stiffened and nodded their heads like robots, making Nash chuckle a little bit.

"Your highness, Princess Izel I am deeply sorry for the rudeness of My Lord has done by just barging in casually inside your chambers." The butler sighed and wiped the fake tears away from his eyes, he bowed down, and it was perfectly 90 degrees! "I do promise that this won't happen again."

"I know it won't, right Lord Nash?" Ashleah gave him a cheeky smile making him groan and scratch his nape in frustration. "Well then, we can all just move on. For no, please do go outside my chambers."

Quickly doing what she said, the door finally closed making her sigh. "Now, your highness. Let me help you take a bath." Ashleah's eyes widened when she heard what her nanny said.

"I'm okay Nanny, I can handle- WOAH!" She was playfully pushed inside her bathroom, her eyes were wide and mouth was left hanging wide open. Ashleah forgot how beautiful and gigantic the rooms inside the Imperial Palace.

Wearing a rose long sleeve gown with a slit on its center, there was dark red fabric. Ashleah's hair was done perfectly. Her brunette hair was done in a perfect bun with braids on it. Looking at her reflection, she was amazed.

"I should get going." Ashleah looked back and smiled at Riley. "Thank you for today, Nanny!" She waved her hands and giggled softly making the woman smile ear to ear.

Walking down the large halls of the palace, there were gold vases, marble floor and gigantic gold chandeliers on the ceiling, it was like she was in some kind of fairy tale. Her feet moved like she really knows every single turn inside the palace that she called home.

"Greetings Lord Nash, sorry for making you wait." She said with a bright smile on her face, walking inside the garden terrace of the Imperial Palace, Nash stood up from the silver chair he was sitting earlier and bowed down slightly.

"It is fine, your highness." He said, he looked directly at Ashleah's eyes pain, happiness, sadness was seen in his red eyes. He smiled with all his might.

"Well, let's talk shall we?" Walking to the chair right in front of Nash's, the man quickly went to Ashleah and pulled the chair behind her. "What do you—"

"Goddamn Ashleah, you know why I'm here." He whispered, his eyes were serious. Making Ashleah freeze on the spot.

"I was just at the temple—"

"And I told you, don't go there right? And now I'm back at being a 16 year old son of Duke Deoncan." he hissed and messed his perfectly fixed hair making Ashleah chuckle.

"I was just asking him some questions and was—"

"Questions? And how did those questions brought us back to almost 150 years back?" He whispered and covered his face using the palm of his hands.

"He told me that he's going to give me a mission. Calm down and stop interrupting me Nash!" Ashleah hissed, making Nash groan removing his hands. Nash leaned his back on the silver chair and waited for Ashleah to continue on explaining.

"He didn't tell me what my mission was.. But I have a clue." Ashleah gulped and started fidgeting her clean nails, looking down she took a deep breath and gave Nash a brave look. "I think my mission is to stop you from killing Axis."

"What now?" He started coughing lightly and chuckled. "Oh God, Ashleah am I still dreaming? What are you talking about? And then why do I still have the neck—"

"Dear child." Nash froze, Ashleah gasped loudly, it was..

"You are the God of Reincarnation." Nash whispered, Ashleah massaged her forehead due to stress.

"You still have the necklace because you have to continue your mission, it's just who finishes their mission first breaks the curse. This is my way on saying sorry for—"

"Why?" Nash blurted out, Ashleah saw how his relaxed hands turned into a fist. 'Oh what now?' She looked at Nash.

"What do you mean why?"

"Why are you late in that sorry thing? Why?!"

"My child, please do calm down. We have our reasons."

"Nash, please calm down. They can hear you." Ashleah said, trying to calm the man that was now breathing heavily right in front of her.

"I gave you this mission for you to stop the black magician before it can cast the spell on my child, Axis."

"So you want us.. to find who that magician was?" She asked with a confused look on her face.

"Yes. You are correct. I can't meddle in those things anymore since my older brother stopped me. This is the only way I can help you."

Sighing deeply, Nash looked up and smirked. "It's a deal then."

"What do you mean Nash?" Tilting her head, She looked at Nash. Slowly smiling because she realized what he was talking about.

Looking back at Ashleah, they both smirked and said "We're accepting the new mission."
